 General Introduction

Lord Shiva told that he meditated for thousand years keeping his eyes closed and when he came out of the state of meditation, a few drops of tears fell on the ground, it took the form of the seeds, from these seeds the Rudraksha tree came into existence. Another ancient story says that when Lord Shiva burnt demon Tripurasura, tears came out of his eyes which were converted into Rudraksha tree. |
